World Premiere of Burnin' Down the House Coming to The Hanover Theatre

WORCESTER, MA. – Award-winning Worcester filmmaker Tommy Jay Dwyer will debut his documentary, Burnin' Down the House, at The Hanover Theatre in Worcester MA on August 6th at 7:30 PM.

Presented in partnership with the Last Call Foundation, the film explores the hidden challenges facing today's firefighters, from aging firehouses to the long-term health risks associated with the job. Through intimate interviews and unprecedented access inside Massachusetts firehouses, the documentary asks a simple but urgent question:

Who protects those who protect us?

For Dwyer, whose family has deep roots in the fire service, this project is personal.

"This film was never about buildings," said Dwyer. "It's about the people inside them. It's about firefighters who continue to show up for their communities despite the sacrifices that come with the job. I wanted to tell the real story about what the real men and women face on the front lines."

The World Premiere will serve as both a celebration of firefighters and an opportunity to raise awareness about the challenges facing the fire service today.

Tickets go on sale Friday 6/12/2026 at thehanovertheatre.org.
